Kashmiri artisans use twigs as they make "Kangris" ( a pot used in Kashmir to keep oneself warm) at their workshop in Tral village of Pulwama.‘Chilai Kalan', the harshest winter period of 40 days when there are maximum chances of snow and rains has started in Kashmir with sub-zero night temperatures across the region. In the biting cold of a Kashmir winter, it is the kangri that offers warmth. The earthen pot filled with burning charcoal is held by its handle under the pheran, a long, loose woollen garment people in the Valley wear.
