The New England attic is famous the country over as a repository for articles dating back to the time when the house was built and even earlier. Here, in Mrs. Chandler's attic, note the spinning wheel, two flax wheels, wooden cradle, toys, German helmets, hoops for hoop-skirts, clock and sewing machine. Note also that the beams are hand-hewn and fastened together with wooden pins.
