Pripyat is a ghost town located in northern Ukraine.

Pripyat is a ghost town located in northern Ukraine, near the border with Belarus. It was once a bustling city of around 50,000 people, but was abandoned following the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986. Chernobyl is a nuclear power plant located near Pripyat. On April 26, 1986, a reactor at the plant exploded, resulting in the worst nuclear accident in history. The disaster released radioactive materials into the environment, leading to widespread contamination and health effects for those exposed. Today, both Pripyat and Chernobyl are heavily restricted areas due to the continued presence of radioactive materials. They have become a popular destination for tourists and researchers interested in studying the effects of the disaster and the process of nuclear decommissioning.
