T D consisted of a box exhibit of eighteen varieties, one basket containing at least twenty-five roses, either of one variety or mixed as to variety and color, and two small vases of at least three roses. Scoring was on the basis of 100 as the maximum number of points—twenty- five points as the maximum for the first day's exhibit, thirty-five on the second day and forty on the third day. The score of each exhibit was posted each day at noon. Grosham won the first prize, with a total score for the three days of ninety- eight points. Willamette Heights won second prize, with a total of ninety-five points. Peninsula carried off third hon- ors, with ninety-four and five-tenths points, and Arleta was a close fourth, with ninety-four points as a total score. The following districts were awarded certificates of merit for hnving scored above seventy points: Brooklyn. East Portland. North Portland-Piedmont, Portland Heights. Rose City Park, Sell- wood, St. .Tohna. University Park. The trophies awarded by the .judges to Ores- ham, Willamette Heights. Peninsula and Arleta will be permanently displayed in the branch library of their respective sections. Sportsmen-Tourists' Exhibit. Under the snme roof and sponsored by the Portland Chamber of Commerce, was the first sportsman-tourist exhibit ever held in connection with a Portland rose festival. Exhibit space
