Aundh temple, Satara, Maharashtra, India. Temple constructed in vernacular style and local material like black basalt offers a surrounding high wall protecting the temple complex on top of a hill. The wall itself is broad enough to hose the archway in form of cubical encompassed on four sides with pointed arches and stone pillars on one side and 4 to 5 ft. thick wall on external side. devotees use this space to rest in harsh afternoon and also to offered prayers since the actual temple inside is a tiny narrow space.
