Horizontal wide angle of the traditional canalside gabled houses on Sint-Annarei
Horizontal wide angle of the traditional canalside gabled houses along Sint-Annarei that are characteristic of the architecture in Bruges. A gable is the triangular portion of a wall between the lines of a sloping roof. Characteristic of gabled buildings in Belgium and Netherlands is the crow-stepped gable, which, as the name suggests, is where the stone work is stacked in a step pattern above the roof as a decoration.
