Indeed, his letters will show thathe was often sorely tempted to throw up hisengagements and run off to England by thenext steamer. He entered with great interest into all our plansand amusements, and on one occasion, when myeldest brothers costume for a juvenile fancy ballwas under discussion, he took pen and paperas he sat chatting among us, and drew little CO.
