The soil should be rich and deep, manured, if possible, the previous autumn. Thin out the young plants lO about six inches apart and keep the surface of the sround open, and free from weeds. It is perfectly hardy, and may remain in the ground through the winter ; indeed, the fine sugary flavor is only perfected by a severe frost. AMERICAN HOLLOW CROAV^.
