The river Guadiana (Rio Guadiana) forms the boarder between the Algrave (Portugal) and Andalucia (Spain) and is 460 miles (742 kilometres) long. The river is navigable from the Portuguese town Vila Real de Santo Antonio up to Alcoutim, Portugal and Sanlucar de Gudiana, Spain
