Recruits from Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, cross monkey bars during Confidence Course I at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, June 13. If recruits fall from the monkey bars, they must start the exercise from the beginning. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Alpha Company is scheduled to graduate Aug. 19.
