Open door interior view of the small Tai Wong Shrine, western end of Stanley Promenade, Stanley

Tai Wong, with the power of healing, is a popular Chinese deity in Hong Kong. The most popular deity in Hong Kong is Tin Hau, goddess of the sea and protectress of fishermen. Each profession and trade also has its own god. There is no special day for worship, so devotees visit a temple or shrine whenever they want to pay their respects or feel the need for spiritual guidance. Fruit is often offered.
