Torrential rain over the jungle of northern Guatemala seen from atop a pyramid in the ruins of El Mirador, an ancient overgrown Mayan city.
Torrential rain falls down over the jungle of northern Guatemala and the ruins of El Mirador, an ancient Mayan city. The afternoon sun lights up the rain, viewed from the top of the pyramid El Tigre. The rain stopped falling for the Mayans after centuries of deforestation around the city of El Mirador, resulting in their need to leave the city, despite advanced irrigation infrastructure.
