There are several market garden sections in Massachusetts, and a number of minor centers where a specialty is made of one or more crops. The three chief ar^-as are the Boston area, centered about Concord and Danvers; the Providence area, including the Massachusetts towns near Providence, Rhode Island; and in the Connecticut Valley. (See Figure 13.) Of these, the first named is by far the most important. Greenhouse vegetables are extensively grown there, as well as the out-of-door vegetables. Minor areas are found.
