The leather is embossed with the inscription: Denckt aan Maria gelyck ick an dey in gothic letters surrounded by dots and ornaments. The tinned iron fittings consist of bands that are struck on the box with nails. Two vertically on the front wall and two on the corners. Five straps fastened with nails over the convex lid. Along the front and side edge of the lid a wide scalloped edge with curved pearls and a twisted round hinged handle on top
