Les Hanois Lighthouse, designed by James Douglasbegan service in 1862 and was built on the Le Biseau rock at the south west of Guernsey & most western point of the Channel Islands. It was automated in 1996. Although a Trinity House operated light it is Guernsey that funds maintenance costs.
