Yoshiye Minamoto on Horseback
The Taira and Minamoto clans of Japan were great rivals. Yoshiye, pictured here on horseback, belonged to the Minamoto clan and was one of the most popular warlords of feudal Japan. He was a great tactician, known for his humane acts, and well versed in literature. Yoshiye Minamoto died in 1108.
