A Strike Fighter Squadron 82 (VFA-82) F/A-18C Hornet aircraft taxis into the steam rising from a catapult aboard the aircraft carrier USS AMERICA (CV-66) as it moves into position for launch. The aircraft of Carrier Air Wing 1 (CVW-1) are returning to their home bases after being deployed aboard the AMERICA for Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm.
