Snow Queen and Child

Alphonse Maria Mucha (1860 - 1939) was a Czech Art Nouveau painter. However, he did a great many posters and prints. The period of his work has become known as the Belle Epoque. "The Snow Queen" (Danish: Snedronningen) is a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875). The tale was first published 21 December 1844 in New Fairy Tales. The story centers on the struggle between good and evil as experienced by a little boy and girl, Kai and Gerda.
