Chicken of the woods fungi, Laetiporus sulphureus, sometimes called Sulphur polypore found growing in the New Forest in Hampshire England UK GB. The colourful fungi can grow in large amounts and is edible. It grows on living and dead trees and favours oak trees amongst several others including sweet chestnut. It is seen here growing around the base of a dead tree stump. It is edible when young but is said to cause adverse reactions in some people that have eaten it.
