Firefighters from Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center demonstrated the use of live-fire training props at Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center, Alpena, Mich. April 07, 2022. The props, known as “Palmer’s Dollhouses,” are utilized by fire departments nationwide to train critical skills including communication, smoke reading (color, velocity, density and volume), ventilation tactics, and thermal imaging camera operations.
