Pierson Co. a $25 silver cup for carnations. President Howard Nichols puts up $10 for the best six pot plants of chrysanthemums, pots not to exceed seven inches. The executive committee reported on the schedule for the fall show and suggested a few mmor alterations from last year. It was voted to print a prelin\inary schedule and mail same to members, the complete schedule to be printed as soon as the secretary re- ceives all the special prizes. The month- ly prize for the best display of flowering plants and cut bloom was awarded to D. McFarlane, as was also a certificate of merit for *ht same exhibit. A cer- tificate of merit was awarded James Ballantyne for his exhibit. The exhibits consisted mostly of Cinneraria stellat:i and bulbous stock, most of which was shown in pots and pans. The exhibits made a very effective display and were favorably commented upon by the mem- bers present. A paper on hardy out- door roses was read by D. McFarlane and freelv discussed.
