A heavy Dutch target crossbow with windlass, circa 1700 Robust, forged steel bow with braided hemp string, iron bridle and cut stirrup. Sturdy walnut tiller carved at bottom with ornamental tin inlays on the sides and brass inlays at top. Grooved iron bolt-clip with (added) wooden nut. Double-axle lock with chiselled iron trigger lever. Iron parts somewhat corroded. Length 107 cm. The corresponding forged windlass with double gear ratio, openwork pulleys.
