The meeting was called to order by the secretary, who stated that the annual year began July 1, but that ac- cording to custom the organization meeting had been held during the S. A. F. convention and the newly elected olEcers assuming control. August T. Poehlmann, of Morton Grove, 111., was present as retiring president and Wil- liam H. Elliott, of Brighton, Mass., as- sumed the chair. The statement was made that the society had invested its permanent fund to the amount of !f3,000 in guar- anteed mortgages at a rate of 5 per cent, dating from July 1, that there was a balance in the treasury of some- thing over $100 and that, up to that date, all bills were paid, with one ex- ception, a matter of some $ The present executive committee is as fol- lows : Philip Breitmeyer, Detroit, Mich.; Peter Bisset, Washington, D.
