The Canbelego Copper Mine had yielded 17 tons ofcopper—nett value £647—from the treatment of 142 tons of ore. During the year 1912 the Mount Boppy Gold Mining Company pursuedthe usual developmental policy, nevertheless movements were hampered byscarcity of water. The chief interest during the year centred about the two-lowest levels north of the Henry shaft. At the close of 1911 the company * Annual Report, 1910, p. Wi ° CS 11 had found a large body of ore at the 600-feet level, and at the northernportion of the trough 1,125 tons of ore broken on thewestern side of thelode yielded 15 dwt. 12 gr. gold per ton. Henry shaft was sunk to a depth of 816 feet, and sinking has now- beendiscontinued until the lode at the 800-feet level has been proved by No. 6winze, which is now being sunk below No. 7 level.* The ore reserves on the 31st December, 1912, were estimated at 208,597tons by the management. The mill ran only 263 days during the year owing to drought 9-61 inches of rain fell in 1912, being a decrease of 10 inches as com-pared with the precipitation of the preceding year. Advantage was takenof the fact of the mine tank being empty to enlarge its holding capacity, and about 10,000 cubic yards of material were excavated. A considerable portion of the surface plant was remodelled and a newboiler added to the machinery. Another feature of the years work was the ere
