Even the current left-wing government calls for various events to commemorate this date, including a large military parade, as well as activities inside and outside the territory of the Kingdom. Hispanidad is intended to sell a shared culture between Spain and its former colonies in Abya Yala, Africa and Asia. This year from the Community of Madrid, more than 100 cultural activities have been proposed between concerts, theater, readings and gastronomy, inviting more than 1500 artists from various countries. This effort seeks to justify Spanish colonization as a civilizing process and therefore necessary and praiseworthy, which gives Spain a universal dimension, as well as the idea that there is a feeling of common belonging and brotherhood, an advertising campaign for the colonizer. More than 1,000 defenders of the territory have been killed in Abya Yala in the last decade and the people who resist are persecuted, accusing them of being violent or directly terrorist. The original peoples, aware that they are part of nature, live in harmony with it and defend their territories, mobilizing to get ahead despite dispossession, racism and brutal extractivism. For 10 years, this demonstration in the streets with the cry #12deOctubreNadaqueCelebrar, joining similar processes in other parts of Abya Yala. This year especially, the demonstration #12deOctubreNadaqueCelebrar embraces the demand of the Popular Legislative Initiative for Regularization and for everyone in the Immigration Law.
