Japan Rail West Co. (better known as JR West), debuted the Hello KItty shinkansen (bullet train) on its Sanyo shinkansen service June 30, 2018. The service connects the cities of Osaka and Fukuoka, and the Hello Kitty train itself features Hello Kitty-themed livery and motifs. Special Hello Kitty ekiben (Japanese train lunch boxes) are sold onboard.
