What has remained from the "Gibraltar Blockhouse" at the western end of Pozires village. The original structure was three meters high, but subsequent shelling destroyed most of it. Today what remains to be seen is parts of the basement. The Battle of Pozires was a two week struggle (23 July Ð 7 August 1916) by British and Australian divisions for the capture of the village of Pozieres during the 1916 battle of the Somme.
