Corang Arch, Morton National Park, NSW Australia

The light wasn't the best. Sunrise had been a gloomy affair, with no hint of mist, all was grey. The sun did appear on and off, but only to be swallowed by the brooding clouds, and then it began to drizzle, then rain. A day had already passed with no let up of gloom, and although my original plan was to capture the arch in mist, I was content to be here nonetheless. The quietness, the view, the wildlife was beauty enough. For once I had the fore thought of setting up camera, and while I waited patiently for an hour, listening to and watching the bush in between showers, like a flick of a switch, the sun burst through the gloom. Eucalyptus leaves glistening in the warming sunshine I clicked the shutter just in case. Now I waited, hoping for the couds to partially obscure the sun. Minutes later they did, to dramatic effect. I clicked the shutter a few more times as mist rose from the valley below, the top of Corang Arch bathed in subdued sunlight, the sun rays walking across the landscape.
