'I'he ])lnm tree, in well prepared soil, is free from disease, except occasionally the black knot, an(i this is easily remedied by severe cutting away in the early stages. The fruit is usually troubled with the curculio, a small dark brown beetle, causing- it to dropoff. This can be prevented.
