Today's large cruise liners are like floating cities, with all the amenities and problems that entails. Staid British lines aside, they also tend towards a homogeneous generic style; let us call it 'Post-Vegas' - make it glitzy, add some more glitz for luck, plus lashings of marble and spotlights.
