Per- ennis, rhizomate elongata, repente, caulibus basi suifrutescentibus adscendentibus, elongatis, inferne ramosis. Ramis sterilibus dense, floriferis remotius tbliosis. Foliis quaternis, deflexis, coriaceis, uninerviis, a basi abrupte rotundatå auguste ovato- lanceolatis mucronulato-acuminatis, marginibus spi- nulescentibus, valde revolutis, infimis oblongo- spathulatis, apice rotundatis, breviter mucronatis. Panicula sparsiflora, ramis divaricatis. Pedicellis flore subaequilongis. Corollis purpureis, lobis ovatis apiculatis. Antheris nigris, fructu (imma- ture) laevi. A very distinct species, which does not seem to be closely related to any other hitherto described. It appertains to the section Eugalinm Koch and must be placed amongthe Chromoyalia Boiss. To this species I have attached the name of my wife, Mrs. Laura Holmboe, born Lie. Dry hill-sides, not rare in the southern part of the island. Mari ^east of Limassol (JH 639). G. saccbaratiun All.
