An Illyrian helmet, 6th century BC. Bronze. Spherical skull with a broad crest base contoured by double ridges, shallow side cutouts and short neck-guard. Surrounded by a a double, raised border - reinforced on the forehead - with lentil-headed decorative pins. The tips of the cheekpieces pierced for attachment of the chin strap. Heigth 23 cm, weight 670 g. Slightly deformed, metal in good condition, blue-green patina with soil sedimentations.
