Behind a terrace enclosed by balustrade adorned with heavy curtain & topped by lambrequined valance, an archer stands, drawing a bow in the upward direction; river (?) & trees with hills in background; buildings in distance (BRD) picture-frame border with acanthus leaves enclosed within narrow bands; scallops in corners Chevalier illustrates an engraving after Nicolas Lancret, p. 126, including a man drawing a bow. The position of this figure with the bow strikingly echoes that of the one found on the present tapestry. Lancret was thus a source of inspiration for this panel.
