Procede del derribo de la casa núm. 19 de la Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Valencia, donde vivió el fotógrafo Antonio García Peris, suegro del pintor Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida. Formó parte de la alegoría de las cuatro estaciones que decoraban el techo del comedor; la pintura fue trasladada del techo a madera en 1962 por el artista Luis Roig d´Alós.
