A Saxon left hand dagger,circa 1600 A slender ridged blade with a strong ricasso. The blade has a single perforation along the centre line,the ricasso with three perforations. Iron hilt with heavy fire-silver plating,the edges slightly worn. The obverse side of the quillons fluted and with a small guard ring. Original grip cover with iron wire winding and braided ferrules. Fluted,slightly tapered pommel.
