Satellite dishes beaming to the skies in Cizhong, a small Mekong River village in northern Yunnan. Ethnically Tibetan, with a scattering of other minority groups, Cizhong doesn't have a hospital or equipped medical clinic, but almost every household owns a television. The village was converted to Christianity by visiting French missionaries in the late 1800's who also planted acres of grapes. The people of Cizhong still harvest the grapes, selling them to one of the many Yunnanese wineries that have emerged in recent years.
