The drape as shown in the drawing is of a piece of polka-dot satin, draped smoothlyover the upper part of the form and allowed to drape in natural fullness to the floor. To get the hobble efifect it will be necessary to gather a wide band of satin about theform below the knees. Tliis band should be the same color as the polka-dots in the silk. The front of the upper part of the drape is finished off with a bow of ribbon with alength of it suspended in pendant form. Tliis ribbon is l)rought around from the backof the Drape 7 175 Dhaimng on Forms 1^ /r-. Drape 8, Fig. 1 are placed in the back at theneck, about the middle of theback, at the waist line and thelast one ratlicr low down onthe hips. The loose end of thegoods is left at the bottomand then brought up to theleft shoulder of the figure(right side of picture) asshown in Iig. 2. Fig. 3 shows the nextmove. The surplus goods arebrought across from the leftshoulder U> the riglu one (leftside of picture) a half turnbeing given to the material atthe middle of the bust. Form The drape No. 8 shownhere is a good one. It wasnot intended to show a fin-ished gown. The purpose wasto demonstrate tw^o featuresthat are important in theselling of dress materiaLs—style, and the goods by theyard. Showing the goods at-tractively by the yard is con-sidered from a merchandisingstandpoint as more importantthan the indicating of form of drape
