HAKLES M. ALLEGA, one of Chariton countys most extensiveand successful farmers and stock raisers, and an energetic, pub-lic-spirited citizen, was born July 17, 1849. Though a nativeMissourian, Mr. Allega has been unable to ascertain whether his birthoccurred in Livingston or Carroll county, that event having transpiredprior to the survey of the present line separating the two counties,the original homestead now being located in both counties.
