CONNORS BRIGHTON 01273 486851 PICTURE BY NIGEL BOWLES Lesley Anne Dunford A woman has pleaded guilty for the second time to murdering her baby son, months before she killed her young daughter. Lesley Dunford, 37, was charged in October last year over the death of seven-month-old Harley Dunford on August 27 2003. He was found dead in his cot at the family's former seaside home in Camber, near Hastings, East Sussex. In January, Dunford, formerly of Windermere Close, Exeter, Devon, admitted his murder but the following month changed her plea to not guilty. Alan Kent QC, defending, had told the earlier hearing that she had resolved to plead guilty because she did not want to travel to court every day of the trial. Today, Dunford appeared at the Old Bailey before Mr Justice Baker and changed her plea again and the case was adjourned to a date to be fixed in April for sentencing. The defendant's three-year-old daughter Lucy died six months after Harley, on February 2 2004. In June 2012, Dunford was jailed for seven years for Lucy's manslaughter after Lewes Crown Court heard the child died from asphyxia caused by forced blockage of her airways.
