Most of the specimens came from Suf-folk county, Long Island, some of thembeing found along the shore of theSound. The upper card of flint implementsare from Long Island, as are the groovedhatchets, just above the string ofbeads. His hematite objects are arrangedbelow the beads, and consist of six axesand a number of plumbs and celts. Thesecome from the Missouri and the Ohiovallev. At either end of the second row, THE ANTIQUARIAN. Ill. below the hematites, is a card consisting ofobjects from graves on the Pacific card at the left is the more interestingof the two, as it exhibits a copper braceletand ring, long shell and bead pendants, the bottom of the picture may beseen a stone mortar and perforated imple-ment from North Carolina; to the left of this, a mortar and pestle from North Car-olina; just to the left a mortar and pestlefrom Oregon.
