Pvt. E. B. Trabold of the 90th Aero Squadron operating with the 82nd Division in Ourches, France, captured a photograph on July 15, 1918, depicting a pigeon being released from a plane. A note accompanying the image instructs that the bird is held to prevent injury upon release. The image was passed by the Censor on August 13, 1918.
