View WSW of Hafod-y-garreg post-Medieval abandoned farmstead in the valley of the Afon Dulyn on the western hills above the Vale of Conwy, North Wales. Establishment of upland farms peaked in the 18th & 19th centuries, many permanent farmsteads developing from a seasonal hafod (summer place) as early as the C17th. This view shows a roofless farm building surrounded by cleared & enclosed land with drystone walls & clearance cairns. The main farmstead is in the trees to the rear.
