Earthquake Damage around the village of Kaiapoi, New Zealand, after the magnitude earthquake on 3rd September 2010. Silt Liquefaction; Fissures.


Over 800 homes and 400 commercial buildings were destroyed by, or demolished following the magnitude Earthquake that occurred on 3September 2010. The Fault-line (Greendale Fault) had about 6m lateral displacement and 1m vertical displacement. The historic Kaiapoi Museum was damaged beyond repair and had to be demolished.
