The restored cockler Baden Powell on the River Great Ouse at King's Lynn, Norfolk.
The Baden Powell was the first boat built by Walter Worfolk after his relocation, in 1899, from Yorkshire to King's Lynn where he established a boat building enterprise which ran until the 1980s when the second of his sons retired. By then, the Worfolks had built more than 600 boats of various types. She has been restored over the past two decades, for many of those years by volunteers, the work finally resulting in a virtual rebuild after a Heritage Lottery Fund grant allowed a professional boat builder to take her in hand. Now back on the water, she will undertake short trips down to the Wash where she fished for most of her career, motor and under sail.
