KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. - Excitement builds among the news media gathered in the NASA Newsroom the night before launch. The countdown for the launch of Space Shuttle Discovery on Return to Flight mission STS-114 is under way for an anticipated liftoff at 3 51 EDT July 13. During its 12-day mission, Discovery’s seven-person crew will test new hardware and techniques to improve Shuttle safety, as well as deliver supplies to the International Space Station.
