Male: Size, structure of the antennae and male genital clasper not differing appreciably from the typical staphyleae, but the yellow coloration replaced by bright red. Female: Similar to the male in structure and coloration; very much resembling the females of reuteri and caesar, but the more slender form of the antennae will serve to distinguish this variety. In Minnesota the writer has taken a large series of this variety.
