Friedrich II - Count Kurt Christoph von Schwerin(1684 - 1757),a covered porcelain terrine,Meissen,circa 1746/50. Rococo terrine on four animal paws,with rocaille handles,lid handle in the shape of a rose,hand-painted decorative flowers in colour,and a surrounding purple-coloured,scalloped rim. The service was a gift from Frederick the Great to his Field Marshal Schwerin. The occasion is so far unknown,however,it may perhaps be dated to 1754.
