An everyday sight in my home village of Radley - like this image of a low sun rising behind a bare tree in late spring - can offer a gaunt and unexpected beauty. But then I got a bit more adventurous and turned it into something more colourful and abstract, using a combination of Photoshop techniques including image folding, rotation, multi-layer blending, transformations and gradient mapping. Note how the natural fractal patterning of the branches is still visible in the final abstract image. I hope you like it!
