The demand for fern leaves has been unusually heavy. Smilax is being shipped into this market from Colorado Springs. Club Meeting. The Colorado Florists' Club met Monday evening, January 15, the reg- ular meeting night having fallen ou New Year's. It was one of the most interesting meetings the club has had, and it will be the endeavor of the offi- cers and entertainment committee to make each coming meeting more suc- cessful than the last. Exhibitions of carnations were made by the Mauflf Floral Co., Park Floral Co., Peter Johnson, C. A. Benson and Emil Glauber. The varieties shovra were Washington, Ruby, Scarlet Glow, Princess Charming, Bright Spot, Presi- dent Valentine, Enchantress, Winsor, White Enchantress, Mrs. C. W. Ward, White Perfection and Beacon. The evening's entertainment, after refreshments, consisted of a three-round bout, several selections on the zither by Fred Wilke, and a discussion on carnations, in which all joined. The next meeting will be Monday evening, February 5, at T. M. A. hall. The entertainment committee in charge of the meeting is C. L. Gross, Frank Fraser and C. Lengenfelder. Ther© will be an exhibition of roses by local growers, and probably a paper on "Eoses" by some successful grower.
