Sergeant 101 Lothers, a soldier and photographer, took this photograph on March 1, 1919. The image shows members of the 56th Pioneers Company, specifically Company G, unloading different-sized cannons in the freight yards of Coblenz, Rhenish Prussia, Germany. These cannons were part of the inventory to be delivered to the Government by Germany as per the conditions outlined in the Armistice agreement.
